CranSEDS is Cranfield University’s branch of UKSEDS (UK Students for the Exploration and Development of Space), made up of students who are passionate about Space Exploration and are looking to fulfil the challenge of ESA’s cosmic vision 2015-2025 where “Today’s science rests on the contribution of every citizen”.
Whether through competing in various competitions to design the best rockets or the more ambitious rovers or running and attending events where the current engineers of the space industry pass on their experiences to inspire the next wave; the members of CranSEDS are taking their first small steps towards their future careers where they will hope to contribute to the next giant leap forward into the final frontier.
Today, on July 7th 2023, the Hybrid Rocket Motor Test Stand has been successfully started and has pushed its first thrust for the year
A few weeks ago, our friend Sai Tejaswi Kommareddy passed away in a tragic accident.
CranSEDS wanted to express its full support and let you publish a message on this memorial page
Each year we participate in rocketry, satellite, and rover competitions at a national and international level.
Every fortnight, CranSEDS members give a talk in front of their peers on space-related topics: from space psychology to special relativity!
We work with our industry partners to offer site tours and talks to CranSEDS members.
We're always keen to work with new companies, as sponsors, mentors, or collaborators - please get in touch!
