The aim is to launch a rocket up to a target altitude of 10,000 ft by October 2021.
For that, we have created a large team made of talented engineers with different nationalities and backgrounds which will focus on Systems engineering, Mission, Propulsion, Mechanical & electronics and Avionics
Our mission is to develop and launch a rocket carrying a 1 kg payload in a standard 3U CubeSat format at a precise altitude of 3,000 m above Portugal before getting safely recovered with a series of parachutes.
The European Rocketry Challenge, an international competition gathering the best students rocket societies from the continent and beyond.
The event is organised by the Portuguese Space Agency from the 12th to the 17th of October 2021.
We are a team of 27 Postgraduate students from Cranfield University, very diverse with 13 different nationalities and studying different MSc programmes:
In addition to the develop our rocket, we offer to kids & teenagers from British schools a unique opportunity to imagine, design & build a scientific experiment that will be part of our payload!
We will help and challenge them during engaging workshops, and finally launch their experiment in our payload bay at the European Rocketry Challenge.
Projects our members took part in before joining Cranfield:
· Spaceport America Cup – International Rocketry Competition
· C’Space – French National Rocketry Competition
· Water Rocket Competition
· Hybrid Engine Development
· Solid Rocket Motor
· RC aircraft
· Formula Student
· And others !
We are always looking for sponsors willing to enable our rocket to fly and become a STEM ambassador at the largest student rocketry competition in Europe!
Any support would be highly appreciated.
