A competition to design, build and operate large rockets and technical payloads in a competitive environment, while implementing an “ESA” Design Review processes.
For CranSEDS 20th anniversary, we are designing and building a two-stage rocket, with the capability to successfully undertake subsonic and supersonic flights. This will make it eligible for both Mach-24 and EuRoC:
With a deployable and steerable, CanSAT sized payload, Mach-24 has a target apogee of 3km. Our chosen mission for Mach-24 is to deploy an emergency medical kit into an unknown territory, with precision. We are a strong, multidisciplinary team! Members study a wide range of courses including Astronautics and Space Engineering, Materials, Thermal Power and Propulsion, Aerospace Computational Engineering, Manufacturing Technology and Management and Autonomous Vehicle Dynamics and Control. We are always looking for sponsors – so if you would like to contribute in any way, please do reach out!

- Launched dedicated payload within rocket casing
- 1st stage assembly with full stack flown in September (Midlands launch)
- Modular reusable rocket standing at three metres tall
- This design is set to reach supersonic velocities, with an innovative deployable UAV released at rocket’s apogee.
