The Hybrid Rocket Motor Test Stand is an ongoing research project to develop a 300N hybrid rocket motor using HDPE and N2O. Originally started in 2020, the long-term goals of the project are to integrate the hybrid motor into a rocket and move onto development of liquid engines.
The project develops team members in practical engine design, manufacture, and testing. The team includes students from the Cranfield University Astronautics and Space Engineering course, as well as Thermal Power.
The team has Propulsion, Structures, and Control specialists, as well as CFD and Systems Engineers.
